Oh, the Places We'll Go

With the help of Dr. Seuss, I've successfully read a baby girl into nap time oblivion and can now direct my attention to beginning our family blog! With Laney Faye's arrival almost four months ago also came the need for a way to share her stories and photos with those we love. So, two weeks ago I decided to start blogging. I jumped right in by making a Google account and excitedly entered my basic information only to be stumped by the first real step: titling the blog. I'd love to be a normal person who could be perfectly happy using "The Morris Family" or "Marsh, Mel & Laney," but I'm cursed with the need to think up a clever title and try to pass it off as something I mindlessly and wittily came up with. The truth is, after eight days of attempting to think of words that rhyme with Morris (there aren't many), I finally decided on "Love and Some Verses" for several reasons. For one, Marshall and I are both music fanatics and this fact in itself has been a motif throughout the many stages of our relationship. We love Sam Beam and have listened to him for years (Laney now joins us in enjoying his folk/pop/alternative music stylings). Also, the song title represents the purpose of this blog - to give you a glimpse into our somewhat mundane yet poetically love-filled lives. You can follow us as we continue striving to figure out exactly what it means to be a wife, a husband, a mother, a father, a daughter, a son, a teacher, a lover, a friend, or a follower of Christ (or many of these things at the same time).
